Data subjects
The data subjects are users of the Duodecim self-care service.
Duodecim self-care service includes the following:
- Duodecim STAR® – health check and coaching
- Duodecim Omahoito®
Purpose of processing personal data
To facilitate using coaching programmes. The e-mail address provided will only be used to send coaching messages.
Data content of the registers
Health check and coaching data
An e-mail address will be needed to use the coaching programmes. The Star service will forward the e-mail address given by the user and the information on the coaching chosen to the LianaMailer email tool. LianaMailer will store the e-mail address in its system for the purpose of sending coaching messages.
The health check will not collect any personal data. The service will provide a report based on the health information given in the health check. The information will not be stored in the system. The system will collect anonymized data on the use of the service. It will not be able to connect such data to personal data. Users can store the report immediately after completing the health check.
Self-care
No personal data will be collected.
Regular data sources
Users will enter their health data in the health check questionnaire, and the STAR service will then provide a report based on the data provided, informing the user about any risks of disease, for example, and provide a calculated life expectancy. The health data provided will not be stored in the service.
Data recipients
The e-mail address and information on the coaching chosen will be forwarded to the LianaMailer tool for the purpose of sending coaching messages. Otherwise, the service will not forward any personal data. Users will be able to store their health checks.
Transfer of data to outside the EU or the EEA
Data can be transferred to outside the European Union or the European Economic Area in accordance with the data protection legislation. Coaching messages contain no personal health data.
Principles concerning the protection of the register
Personal data will be processed securely, and the necessary technical and administrative measures have been taken to protect them.

Data subjects have the following rights, and any request for using such rights should be submitted to info@duodecim.fi
Right to access and rectify data
The data subject has the right to check the personal data saved by the controller.
Right to be forgotten and to restriction of processing
If the data subject feels that processing of his/her data is not necessary for the controller’s tasks, he/she has the right to require the controller to erase the data. The controller will process such requests and subsequently either erase the data or inform the data subject of justified grounds for not being able to erase the data. If the data subject disagrees with the controller’s solution, he/she has the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Ombudsman. In addition, the data subject has the right to request that the controller restricts processing of the disputed data until the issue has been resolved.
Right to object to the processing of data
Data subjects have the right to object to the processing of personal data if they feel that the controller has processed personal data illegally or has no right to process some personal data.
Right to data portability
Insofar as processing of the subject’s data is based on a contract, the subject has the right to receive data submitted to the controller primarily in a machine-readable format to transmit it to another controller.
Right to lodge a complaint
The data subject has the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Ombudsman (www.tietosuoja.fi), if he/she feels that when handling personal data the controller violates valid privacy legislation.
Statement updates
We reserve the right to amend and update privacy statements, as necessary. We will provide information on any essential amendments to privacy statements visibly in our Omahoito self-care service.
