First ever: Evidence Based Dentistry (EBD) now available

Duodecim Medical Publications Ltd in collaboration with Dental Mammoth Ltd and Medbase Ltd introduce the very first collection of scientific knowledge in dentistry. This collection is called  Evidence Based Dentistry and it is now available online for users globally (www.dentalmammoth.com). The collection consists of:

  • Dental Mammoth is the first comprehensive database covering all disciplines of dentistry and oral medicine based on Evidence based dentistry and used to describe research-based treatment protocols. Although randomized clinical trials are sparse in the field of dentistry the aim of the Editors has been to apply scientific knowledge for treatment recommendations whenever available.
  • Medbase supplies medical decision support databases to healthcare professionals to safeguard the effective and safe clinical use of drugs. Solutions include drug interactions, the analysis of adverse drug reactions, drug treatment during pregnancy and breast feeding, drug treatment in renal insufficiency as well as cross-hypersensitivities between drugs, for example. There is also a specific database for evidence on the safety and efficacy of natural medicines including dentistry-related diagnoses.
  • EBM Guidelines is a unique, concise and easy-to-use collection of clinical guidelines for primary care combined with the best available evidence. Continuously updated EBM Guidelines follows the latest developments in clinical medicine and brings evidence into practice.

“We are welcoming the opportunity to offer the very first comprehensive collection of dental knowledge in one package”, states Dr Heikki Autti, CEO of Dental Mammoth Ltd.

“Global quest is a challenge we will gladly face with our collaboration partners”, says Dr Kari Laine, CEO of Medbase Ltd.

“We are delighted and honoured to be part of the very first Evidence Based Dentistry team and look forward to serving the dental community both at home as well as abroad”, replies Dr Pekka Mustonen, CEO of Duodecim Medical Publications Ltd.
